happy and épuisé

You know that feeling, worn out but happily so. Today we brought our 25 round bales up the hill and rolled them into the barn. No working the boys as it is Patrick's birthday today and I really HAD to drink something fizzy on the terrace after he worked so hard at bringing up the hay.

This is an interesting link to PK's website http://www.philippe-karl.com/703; read it and sign it if you feel moved to. It is only a small start but together??? Who knows what may be achieved.

Interesting (and I suspect quite controversial) points made. Showjumpers need to be re-educated too. Was at Hickstead for some International Classes and the teams all presented using drawreins! I'll study the letter and sign - although at minus-Prelim level (ha, ha) not really relevant!!

This is SO right! I signed immediately. In all disciplines, dressage, show jumping, hunters, Western pleasure, reining, etc., there are too many people who could care less about the horse and care only about winning, and are willing to do anything to get there. Judges do not seem to be paying attention. There needs to be better supervision in the warm-up areas, as well. People don't seem to understand that a horse in true self-carriage can accomplish so much more, so much more willingly, than a horse that has been coerced.

Ah but if it doesn't matter where you are in the heap guys, right is right; wrong is wrong. Anyone that watches dressage or participates, even though not competing, surely has a right to a view.
