aka Chapiro. Today was a change of field routine and lots of faffing about so only really had time to work with my baby today (maybe get time for Moo later). Today we tried the saddle on, it's a narrowish dressage which sat really nicely and will do fine for getting him used to it all. No girth as yet but we did have a few moments of baby flexion with the bit and he was pretty settled....time now to grow up my little man. Here he is doing what he does best, eating, looking cool and hoolying around, lol.

He looks lovely Trudi, looks to have matured since I last saw him. What kind of bit work are you doing with him?
he's noticeably greying.....over the quarters
Yes Di he is growing up but still not very tall (not that it's a problem for a short ass)I only pop the bit in every so often, got at least 6 months (probably more) until we need to get serious. I usually pop it in on a simple head piece and then groom him while he has a play with it. Then I do gentle neck massage whilst quietly holding the bit ring with my index finger and just let him feel what a *conversation* with the bit might one day feel like. It's kind of a gut feeling how far you take it on any one day.
Claire, yes, it's like he has a grey exercise sheet on, bizare.
Lovely boy! And I'm tres envious of your wonderful landcscape!
Oooh I hate to ask, but when is he coming to live in Scotland :-) grin
He's lurvely. So what age is this guy?
Mandeigh, he was three in November but is physically stil a real baby. Although as he looses his coat this year he is looking more growed up, lol, at this rate he'll be 6 before I ride him.
