Hee, heee, NO, sorry , I'm not laughing...... Good idea, something different and will help him to lift his front end. We used to do that, we would build a grid down the long side and our sadist of a teacher used to make us go through with no stirrups and hands on heads!! (We loved it really)
if you would like, I could fetch you some polepods when I come? they are great (4 for £20 or thereabouts, 8 is a good amount and they're good for cavaletti as well). google them if you haven't seen them.
